Our Mission:

Our mission is to promote self-love, health, harmony, joy & peace which can only be shared with the world if it is practiced & known within SELF.

These are mind, body & spirit classes, not "gym yoga". :~)

Yoga can be practiced by anybody regardless of age, size, fitness level or fitness ability. You do not need to be flexible or strong to begin your yoga journey. All you need are an open mind & a willingness to explore your experience. Don't forget comfy clothing you can move in so you can explore your body comfortably & unrestricted. Yoga is an amazing journey of self-discovery; it is not a religion. Learn about your outer world through your inner world. So please stop by & experience for yourself some of the amazing benefits of this 5,000 year old practice.

Yoga classes for all levels including pre-natal & seniors. Class size is limited to 10 to allow for personal attention, care & safety. Private sessions also available. I'm sorry but at this time I cannot accept children in these classes. They need special attention which I cannot offer in a mixed class. Children CAN do yoga & will learn more when participating in a class designed for their maturity level. :c)

Just like life, it can be fun, invigorating, joyful, loving & it can even be depressing, boring or annoying. It is all part of the many wonders of yoga. It is a wonderful way to mirror our lives & learn more about ourselves, our habits, our views, goals etc... The more we work through the feelings the more we learn to love, embrace & accept them - both ON & OFF the mat :)

Kakasana {Bakasana} ~ the Crow Posture , shown above on Miss Piggy
One of my favorite Asanas.

"Kaka" means crow & "Baka" means crane. In the pose the body looks like a bird, hence the names, crane or crow.

Kakasana is a moderate inverted balancing posture. It builds strength in the upper body (arms, forearms, elbow joints, hands, wrists, clavicle & scapula). It also gives you the confidence to begin work with Headstand & Handstand. Kakasana requires courage (to risk falling on your nose) & hip flexibility
(to bring the thighs up next to the chest).

Kakasana is one of the yoga poses it actually looks a lot harder than it really is. It requires much more coordination, concentration & awareness than muscular strength.

As Kakasana is held the chest is immobilized so you breathe abdominally. Remember to keep your attention on the breath because this yoga pose brings the habit of holding the breath as you focus on the balancing act.

This yoga pose reinforces the arm, shoulder & abdominal muscles, wrists & the upper torso. It stretches & lubricates the joints, tendons & ligaments of the upper body. It tones the abdominal organs & opens the groins.

Kakasana increases both physical & mental balance, concentration & tranquility. It balances the nervous system, brings lightness to the body & prepares the mind for meditation. It keeps your horse focused too ;)
